Soft Embrace Paintings

My work combines elements of copper, brass, fabric, and glass to create sculptures that explore the balance between organic and mechanical ideations. My background as an airline mechanic and my life drawing training have taught me to examine detail, structure, and movement with high precision. I find copper and glass particularly inspirational because of their response to light and how copper patinas.
After a long career as an airline mechanic, I am also drawn to sculptural forms that suggest aviation and related life experiences. I like blending traditional craftsmanship with new ideas, transforming metal, glass, and fabric into pieces that connect with organic representation. I add textures that combine a sense of motion with a hint of weightlessness. I am drawn to the point where precision meets imagination and where things change, connect, and take on new meanings.
